Copper futures fall 1.51% on global cues, low demand

Copper futures were trading lower in the domestic market on Friday as speculators trimmed positions amid weak trend overseas. Analysts said apart from a weakening trend in base metals in global markets, easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly attributed the side in copper prices at futures trade. At the MCX, copper futures for November 2017 contract was trading at Rs 450.05 per kg, down by 1.51 per cent, after opening at Rs 453.50, against a previous close of Rs 456.95. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 449.10 (at 12:20 hours).
